Courtney received her PhD in English Literature and graduate certificates in University Teaching and Women’s and Gender Studies from Duquesne University. Her research and teaching interests include modernist and contemporary American literatures, multiethnic literatures, trauma studies, composition studies, and writing centers. At Georgia Tech, Courtney teaches first year composition and serves as Assistant Director of the Naugle Communication Center. In the Communication Center, Courtney enjoys helping students develop their composing and revising processes to become confident, independent communicators.
